Found 2 nice big beef brisket joints in reduced section today....Nihari Beef needed to be done...very low and very slow.

Of course garlic too @traceyross and try resting a few sprigs of rosemary and thyme and a smashed garlic with butter on top of the steak while it rests covered in foil - it adds a little magic xx

That’s good to know @Damian Green thank you. The steak is nice here cooked on the bbq with just salt and pepper. Enjoy your beef curry, the slow cooker is great for it.

@traceyross I’ve not slow cooked beef for a curry before and this will be my second ever beef curry...but I’ve made plenty of pies and casseroles with rougher beef cuts and I have roasted plenty of times with various joints my fav of which is rib of beef. For me prime cuts of beef need little more than salt and pepper. I believe steak in the US is something else!?? Xx

Yum I bet that will be gorgeous tasting. What types of beef have you slow cooked with that you like? It’s all different names in the US for cuts of meat so i need to find a few equivalents. I use a ‘stew pack’ but there is probably a tastier/better cut.

Oooo that sounds goood,can’t beat brisket when it’s cooked slowly
