Hi everybody, happy New Year! Great to be cooking again😊.
Tonight I’ve cooked an ‘International’ meal.
There is a Caribbean curry of beef, the Caribbean powder is from Cardiff market. All the chillis used are from my garden. The accompaniments are South Indian Cabbage Stir Fry, the bread is methi rotis from Tilehurst near Reading and the wine is from Faugeres in France.
A lovely combination

Thanks @ dcmorris27 we will look into it👍☀️🍷
@stripeybag here is the link
www.puydufou.com
but need to book well in advance and if you decide to go make sure you include the night show Cinéscenie
@stripeybag maybe time for a new destination, highly recommend the Vendée, lots to do and to see and full of history. One place we would highly recommend is The Puy du Fou, it makes for a long day but well worth a visit. Its got the waow factor.
Sounds very nice @dcmorris . We have traveled to Faugeres in Herault for the last 9 years but it looks as if the house is sold 😭.
@stripeybag we have had many holidays in France and have now made it our home. We are in the Vendée on the coast.
Thanks @boo , thank you for the explanation and Happy New Year🥂🍷🍴
Happy New Year @stripeybag! We missed your posts! Triskell (spelled this way in Brittany) is a Celtic sign symbolising earth, air and water. Very nice potery!
Lovely meal!! Looks delicious!!
Thanks @dcmorris27, I didn’t know what trialled are, but we certainly love visiting France. 🍷🍴
that looks good! and love the decorative potery from 'Bretagne' decorated with 'triskèles'
Thanks @joncrewgee, it tasted good and there are four portions in the freezer, always a bonus.🤣🍴🍷
Wow what a combo,looks great 👍
Hi @sgeist, thanks, yes it was good 🍴😊🍷. I got the actual recipe from Harri’s Slow Cooker book, a great book for curry lovers.
I used to have a border collie, fantastic dogs and companions.😊👍
Ah the great and wonderful Exotic Superstore!! I miss it Soooo so much! I think of that as Reading. Yes, settling in brilliantly up here. Sea/ beach walks with the two border collies racing along the surf every day! 🐕🐕
Hi @Jo dunn, hope you have settled in. I bought the methi rotis at the Exotic Super store, a great shop.👍
He hey! @stripybag!, Happy New Year to you too💥! Good to see you cooking and posting again. Dinner looks awesome! Whereabouts in Tilehurst for the methi rotis? 💕
@sgeist there’s a recipe called carriage thoran in the app which might help you.
great looking spread there! I'm really curious about the cabbage dish, would you share that recipe?
Thank you @Hari Ghotra, @latif, @traceyross and @Arthur vdH, it’s good to get back cooking again. I have done the usual post Christmas turkey curry, but then so do we all 🤣😂🍴
You’re off to a good start, @stripeybag !
