Bought some Kashmiri Chillies but as you can see they're a lot smaller than the ones I've bought before, so will they be spicier or less spicy than the larger version @Hari Ghotra

You’re probably right tho @Arthur vdH looking at google images there’s a huge variety of Birdseye chillies and they all look different

The dried bird eyes I generally blitz them in my price grinder for hot 🌶 powder

They’re Fresh chillies @Arthur vdH ...and that’s a spoon! Yes Birdseye come in red too, I use both these too..green ones for Indian cooking and red for Thai/Chinese but the dried version I see in loads of shops seem to be only 2cm in length (like little bullets) - id take a pic but I’m in hospital 🏥🙄.

This is the problem I find @ken.macritchie - esp online- lots of people selling non-genuine Kashmiri Chillies. They’re not Birdseye I don’t think @Arthur vdH as I have them in dried and they are like very quite small once dried. @Hari Ghotra does sell the real deal in her online store- just so you know too

These look like the rawit/birdseye/Thai chillies that I use @ken.macritchie . They’re pretty potent, but not as hot as a Scotch bonnet or a Mme. Jeanette.

@Jo dunn exactly, well I'm taking a trip to Quality Foods supermarket in Hayes on Saturday so I'll grab some darker & bigger Kashmiri chillies

They don't look like the ones I've got either @ken.macritchie . Too orange, too short, too small 🌶🌶

Don’t worry too much use them anyway but I would suspect that they will be hotter so test and learn I’m afraid @ken.macritchie

They're definitely different to the ones I have bought before, glad I got an opinion from a professional @Hari Ghotra

They don’t look like Kashmiri to me but I may well be mistaken @ken.macritchie
