Easter weekend is looming and I am sure you all have plans to be with friends and family so I wanted to get this one in early in case you decide to do an Indian twist on your Sunday roast next weekend. This is my Mutton Raan - 2 marinades over 48 hours and then a low and slow cook until the meat falls away. It's #recipeoftheweek time!
Do be careful at the end that you don't burn the honey!
What do we think??

Hi @fionamcd62 I would do it for 3-4 hours. Glad it smells good!

My leg of lamb is half weight in recipe. Should I just half the cooking time @harighotra

I would make a nice Madras masala to use as a dipping sauce!

Now it happens that my usual sauce for roast mutton is to add some Merlot to the juices, some mint and a little vinegar, seasoning and honey and reduce using a bit of flour if necessary. Would that be allowed; or should I leave out the mint and vinegar this time 😂?

That looks pretty awesome. If I can gather some faithful in I might try for Friday 😁

Looks amazing ... sadly my Mother in Law would never try it so we will be making ham, but one day :)

We’re doing the Keralan fish curry Friday so this one will have to wait...... not too long though!

It’s great to stuff into pitta with salad or with lemon rice, spiced runner beans. You can make a sauce with the juices too @fionamcd62

Any suggestions what to serve with it? Raita, flatbreads,......?

I get hungry just looking at the recipe, but unfortunately I cannot sell “cute” meat on the guests I’ll be having. Especially with bone in. :-(

This is one for another day, I’m afraid.
