Lamb with Shallots #myfirstcurryoftheweek!

Beautiful rich fragrant sauce, real hit of pepper (I’ll use a little less next time), and I got the lamb really tender (turns out the secret is low and slow - who knew?!?). I messed up and put too many tomatoes in but it turned out really well - this one is a keeper!

I didn't have any pearl onions either.... so I used a bag called 'Wonky' onions from the supermarket! Small, but not small enough, so I painstakingly peeled them, then made a deepish cut , pulled off a few layers until desired size was reached! (Used up the remaining onion bits to make my veggie side dish!) 👩‍🍳💕

top notch photo too 📸🌶

you can always try preparing the lamb @Andrew Cockburn the night before and marinating in a bit of garam Masala and soy sauce and then reduce cooking time to get the lamb tender.

Ha ha the ‘burg what a small world @Andrew Cockburn. Thanks for that I’ll check out Trader Joe’s. There is a chain ‘Fresh Thyme’ that sell some lamb but not as much choice as Wholefoods.

Heh, @traceyross , I moved to the USA after I married my wife who lived in Pittsburgh for 15 years :) I have found that Trader Joe’s sell lambs legs and I have a local chain called Stew Leonard’s who sell Amish lamb

Hi @Andrew Cockburn I’m outside Pittsburgh, PA originally from Scotland. Thanks I’ll check that out. I’ve found Wholefoods butcher good for lamb as struggled to find it.

Lovely looking first curry of the week @Andrew Cockburn, glad you love it. Yeah I bought fresh pearl onions in the US, they were pretty big. I never realised you could by frozen so I’ll check that out for next time. Thanks

Also, I used frozen pearl onions instead of shallots as you can only get HUGE shallots over here so I thought they would be better
