My first attempt at veg pakora on Wednesday. I did deviate from the recipe slightly and added a teaspoon of coriander seeds. My fave takeaway home in Glasgow put them in and I love the burst of flavour you get from them. They were delicious I did a second batch but made them little smaller. Making them tonight again

@Hari Ghotra I’m thinking of using a couple of sweet potatoes in my veg pakora, will that work ok? Either all sweet potatoes or 2 with one normal? And add some fresh peas

@Jo dunn @traceyross I’ll definitely check the videos out thank you! @Hari Ghotra dinner is tomorrow night. My sister is a great cook too, she is doing spiced onions and other dips. Her twin, my sister home in Glasgow is a chef and my other sister runs 3 restaurants in Edinburgh. My brother cooks too. We are very competitive though. All of us will say we make the time best curry lol. @Mark Harvey thank you

Hi @deborahhill1422 good luck with your dinner tomorrow night. I agree with @Jo dunn if you watch Hari’s roti video on YouTube or the app you will get all the information you need. Roti is quite easy with only two ingredients definitely really nice with the atta flour. I love Hari’s naan recipes too.

@traceyross @Jo dunn @Mark Harvey I’m sure you weren’t expecting a short story. I’d love some tips on cooking Roti. I buy it from Tesco and it’s really good but would love to do my own xx

Thanks guys, I’ve been cooking Indian food all my life, my aunt was married to a guy from India for a while so she taught me at a young age. But I always made just basic curries. It’s great now to try different recipes. We were recently in Spain and a good friend from India we stay with makes amazing roti and potato and onion paratha’s it’s the only thing I struggle to cook, no matter how many times he’s shown me. But he’d never made Chettinad chicken and I shared Hari’s recipe. And told him join! I’m making a big Indian dinner tomorrow, a friend from home in Scotland visiting and my sister coming. So tonight I’m doing the veg pakora. The main meal will be Thari Wala Chicken as it’s my current favourite.
