It is sweet Andy, but yummy. And I agree with @traceyross that it's a) addictive and b) that it does thicken a bit when cooled. The more I make it the more I adjust the gur (jaggery) and the chillies to suit. Hubby can scoff nearly an entire small jar on one curry. Pure perfection now in little jars! Any pics? @andrewsherman 💕

😂 yes I’ll learn (maybe). It’s in the jar now 🤞🏼. It did taste really sweet when warm. Hopefully that’ll be tempered a bit when chilled.

Sorry when it’s cooled @andrewsherman

Yeah I took the lid off, it will also thicken a little when it’s cooked @andrewsherman

@traceyross thank you, it’s still going, I’ve taken the lid off now! Probably best to cook this down without a lid on 😲?!

Looks lovely @andrewsherman love that you have homegrown tomatoes too. This is a very nice and addictive chutney.

Should have mentioned that I only needed two ingredients, 1 red chilli and vinegar, even then @kurry Kim found more vinegar at the back of a cupboard!!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Can’t wait to see the finished chutney @andrewsherman - it’s fab with cheese and fish fingers too!

I used gula djawa (palm sugar) instead. That works very well too. I actally always use that when the recipe calls for jaggery.

Loving this list @andrewsherman !! Spiced tomato chutney gettin lotta lurve this week on the app 🌶🍅🌶🍅🌶🍅 Do you use jaggery? Sooo good!... much better flavour than brown sugar, I find. Have fun making it today. Are you well Andy? x
