So this is a German dish called curry wurst, basically bratwurst in curry sauce. I had it in a local restaurant and wanted to reproduce it. The recipe I found online was basically tomato ketchup + curry powder ( I used Hari’s Madras curry powder) but overall although tasty it seems very artificial. Does anyone have a recipe for this starting from scratch and making a masala?

Do my sausage and courgette curry @Andrew Cockburn without the courgette maybe!

Thanks for the ideas @Jo dunn , @Bill , @Sue Geen - I will take your suggestions and start with a Thari Wala and experiment with some additional flavors next time :)

as @Jo dunn said. you could use the tari wala chicken or lamb recipes, substituting the sausage.

I know them well Andrew , taste good at first, but so unhealthy. Standard here in Hamburg.

Did you start with our 'Hari' usual masala base e.g. bit of oil, diced onion, seeds/spices, garlic, ginger, diced tomatoes, salt etc? @Andrew Cockburn . I find I can't make a curry these days without starting from at least some of that essential Hari masala base. Then I add the necessaries to try to recreate the flavours of the dish, e.g. your bratwurst, tomato purée, madras curry spices, maybe gur for some sweetness, tamarind for sour etc. Only my thoughts. 🤔👍💕
