The jaggery is particularly lovely, but brown sugar would work fine 💕deborahhill1422over 1 yearLooks delicious! I love this dish, the sweet and sour 😋 I don’t think I’ll get Jaggery anywhere here so will have to use brown sugar. XSue Geenover 1 yearmmm might try it then, @Jo dunnJo dunnover 1 yearIt is a bit sweet, Sue, but also sour, quite tangy. The tang is more dominant than the sweet. I put in less jaggery than the 2tbsps in the recipe - (pre diabetes etc). I put about 1tbsp so divided by four servings.... not too bad. With the vinegar and chillies and star anise, it's full on flavour, (also has onions, cumin, garlic). @Sue Geen 💕Sue Geenover 1 yearnot one I've cooked @Jo dunn . is it very sweet?
