Punjabi Rajma. Red kidney bean Curry.
I must say a little disappointed, after 8 hours in the slow cooker there was still too much liquid in it . Had to drain it off. Added 4 small potatoes to fill it out.

Hi @bill oh dear I have found this with different beans.
If you get to the point where you think it’s too wet just transfer to the hob and reduce or turn to high and leave the lid off until it thickens. You can also add a tsp of gram flour into a little yoghurt and stir that through to thicken. I do hope you will try it again.

I've only ever made raajma on the hob @bill, but mine looked a thicker sauce, 'creamier', if you like, and the beans seemed more cooked. This has made me want to make it again!!!! 🥫🥣

Slow cookery always needs less liquid due to so little evaporation involved. Over time I'm sure you'll get used to which meats and which veg give out how much liquid... if u c what I mean 😆🤔. But it's a good recipe this one, hope it worked out ok for you in the end?💕

Hi @Bill that’s a shame. I’ve had this, it could be the liquid from the vegetables (or meat) has not evaporated with the lid on. I’ve left the lid off after cooking and turned the heat up so it reduces down. You could also thicken the liquid with a little flour/cornflour. I bet the potatoes was a nice addition. Raajma is really a good recipe I hope you enjoyed it.

I find all slow cooking like that! I don’t put any liquids in when slow cooking meat. @Bill
