About the Author
Harneet Baweja and his wife Devina Seth grew up in Kolkata, and from an early age food played an important role in both their families as they enjoyed recipes that had been passed down for generations. They moved to London in 2014 and, finding a gap in the market for home-style dishes that really capture the intricacy of Indian cooking, they set up Gunpowder with head chef Nirmal Save. Nirmal is originally from Mumbai, where he grew up on a farm and developed a keen interest in the ingredients and produce his mother and grandmother taught him to cook.

Thank you @Damian Green I’ll check this out as I’m always thinking about food. I’ve only read their restaurant recommendations which was spot on.

Try the guardian @traceyross - they do a comparison of many versions from well know chefs and create a ‘best of’ recipe. I use it for things like Christmas cake, Guacamole, chimichurri, mince pies, fish n chip batter...It’s a good read too and makes you think about why you are using the ingredients you are.

That’s funny @Damian Green I do that, loads of books but I go online mostly to the bbc. I cook more since I bought a book stand & it’s good for the iPad too. Thank you that’s kind, no food photography books just winging it.

@traceyross I actually haven’t yet. I’m rubbish with a selection of books I have. I have about a million cook books and still go on line mostly for some reason. I keep meaning to get one book out per week/month and do as many recipes in that month out if the book. I don’t know what goes wrong- but hopefully a kindle version might help as i don’t have to find the book xx I just couldn’t not share this for £1. You’re cooking and photography are seriously good Tracey. You been looking at any good food photography books?? Xx
