@genius It was really easy, half sieved soil and half compost mixed then sprinkled seeds from a packet bought in Tesco (East End brand) cover lightly with more soil/compost water in. I covered it with some bubble wrap for the first few days then watered each day and after about 4 weeks, voila!

This looks amazing. How did you achieve such a crop?

Thanks for the encouragement. I’m stranded in the US but will return to Nicaragua where I will plant an herb garden so that I can continue with you all. I’ll post a few pics

Hi @Gary nothing particularly special, I searched YouTube and all you need is a container then I used potting compost sieved and mixed with sieved garden soil put into container and water. I used seeds bought from Tesco! sprinkled them evenly then covered with a thin layer of the soil mix and covered with bubble wrap for the first few days watering but not soaking. Then after a week or so just water daily if required and after 4 weeks voila! Apparently you can harvest a couple of times and the leaves will come again. I must admit I wasn’t sure the seeds would take, but there was nothing to lose, really very easy. I’ll post tomorrow when I’ve used the leaves for the first time.

Mark! I too need to grow spices. Can you give me the secret to this success? Lots of water? Partial shade!Special soil mix? Fertilizer? How long to harvest?
