@Hari Ghotra Don't worry Hari, it actually turned out to be a success. Thank you for your response. Of course, that's why it tasted bland at that point, because some of the spices had remained on the bottom of the pan. I've heard of people adding water to their spice mix to make it into a paste before adding it to the cooking in order to prevent it sticking. I think the main problem with my cooking on Friday was that I was worn out from a hectic week at work. I still enjoyed the experience and I've learnt something new too. Anyway, as I said, it turned out to be a success when I cooked it a bit more the following day and added some chopped chilli to heat it up a bit. Next week I'm hoping my daughter will be with me to join in the cooking. I love FridayCurryClub and everything you do. Thank you for all the responses you give to questions asked.

@Ju Lian oh dear sorry to hear you thought it was bland. May have lots some of the spice mix on the bottom of the pan. If I catches I sometimes turn the pan off let of cool for a while and steam this lifts the bits at the bottom. Stir and turn on again if it needs more cooking.

I love those vibrant colours. I know when you cook tasting is so important. But looking in from the outside, if the colours are this good, the flavours can only be great!
