I’m making a curry birthday celebration meal on Saturday and wondered what are your favourite Hari recipes - tasty and could maybe be made ahead - there are 8 of us - I’m a vegi but the family are proper meat eaters - there’s one small child too!

One tip is to prepare your masalas and all of other things that need to be chopped a day ahead. It's saves a lot if time, pots and pans and washing up. All dipping sauses can also be made some days ahead.
Don't be the one that falls asleep at the table cos of to many hours in the kitchen the same day.
Good luck and many birthday wishes from Sweden.

Hi @naturesdencatherine wow! I have nothing more to add just to say that I have not been disappointed in any of Hari’s dishes that I have made. We’ve all had a good curry at our local Indian restaurant but Hari brings another level to her dishes. Her food brings people together and you kinda feel that you are in India. Join her this Friday as she does wine pairing with Indian food.

Hi @naturesdencatherine oh my goodness so many great ideas! I always think a chicken biryani is a good party dish. Goes a long way and can be made before hand and put in the oven to bake on the day you want it. Great with veggie side dishes I would go red lentil dhal and maybe aloo Gobi or okra. Does that help?

My favorite is Murgh Makhni (can be mild), Lamb Madras and if seafood is on the cards, definitely have a dash at Malabar Prawns! Saag Aloo as a side and Samosas and or chicken skewers (shashlik/tikka/tandoori) for apps! And, mango kulfi for desert!!! Phew feel exhausted just writing all this LOL!

Hi @naturesdencatherine 🙋‍♂️ if it was me I'd cover both ends of the scale from a warm and cuddly chicken korma to Black Pepper chicken which will invite you outside for a fight 🥊. If the weather allows you to BBQ - in the UK that's above freezing and less than 2" of rain - then chicken shashlik appears a lot on the App - and for very good reason. I also love Hari's tandoori chicken, chicken tikka kebabs and lamb boti kebabs - all are amazing when cooked over charcoal. Don't forget the side dishes and Hari's coleslaw. I'm not a fan of veggie curries - I always feel there is something missing (meat 😢) but I could eat moong masoor di dhal all day long 😋 Enjoy 🥳

I made a saag aloo last week, which was also delicious. Hari's recipes are precise, but you can tweek them to suit your own taste.

hello, my favourite is nariyal chicken, Korma is always good for children, it can be mild or hot, there are some fantastic chick peas recipe on the app for veggies. even meat eaters works like them. the curries can be made ahead and will taste even better the next day. Hari made a great aubergine dish last Friday. it's on You Tube. mushroom biryani is also lovely. you are spoiled for choice. all three recipes are on the app. have fun cooking and best wishes to the birthday person.
