I was disappointed I had to miss joining in last week but determined to make it this Friday. I thought I'd have a go today at making something simple just to see how I got on. With my wife's help reaching for things, I managed very well. I cooked Hari's Red Lentil Dhal. It's something I cook frequently as it takes very little time and is always incredibly delicious. It's also the dish that introduced me to Hari Ghotra and I've been impressed ever since. I am very proud to be a member of this group which appears to consist of only lovely people. Looking forward to joining you this Friday.

I agree with you @Ju Lian. This is a wonderful community. It’s about drawing people together with a common goal and interest. Cooking is so fun and I find it relaxes me and takes me to that happy place. I have learned so much from @harighotra and many of you. Cooking good food unites people and strengthens relationships. Never stop doing what you love and I have loved the connection of like minded people in this global community.

Very clever. Have you posted a picture of the dhal?

@k.goldfire13 of course you didn't offend me. The reason for my profile name is that it used to be my first name, Julian and then my surname. When I wanted to change it, Facebook insisted I had a surname so I just split Julian into Ju Lian

You're right about people. There's nothing wrong with a bit of friendly competition, but some people get too intense and then nasty. No one is such a good cook that they still can't learn something and improve. My maiden name is Julien by the way. Are you taking a leaf out of Will. I. Am's book for your name? 😂😂 I hope I haven't offended you by that remark.

@k.goldfire13 Thank you. Yes, you're right, Hari is amazing and she always likes to include everyone - individually saying hello at the begining of Friday Night Curry. making sure everyone is keeping up and answering questions all the way through. I have joined a couple of groups before but I soon realized several members were too competitive and unfriendly towards others.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I find cooking very calming and relaxing. Dhal is delicious. Very comforting. This is a lovely group of people. Very supporting. I've never bothered to join any groups before, but I'm very happy chatting and posting here. It's Hari's personality which draws is all in. Good luck with rehab. Best wishes for getting better soon.
