Hi folks I am new to this site and my mouth is already watering at Hari’s great dishes. I was just wondering if anybody has got any recipes for curries where you don’t have to make up a large batch of this base sauce most books go on about. I would love a real down to earth Indian recipe.

Nigel Corteen you won't be sorry. All Hari's recipes are achievable. If they appear long break them down into sections so they are not so scary (taught that by the great lady herself) and adjust the chillies to suit your palate. Welcome to the club

Hi hari thanks for your reply. I class myself as an intermediate chef and I crave authentic Indian cuisine not the restaurant base sauce ones. I love your app and can’t wait to try your recipes and I’m going to order your slow cooker book as well.

Hi @Nigel Corteen welcome to the pack! The whole base sauce is more for restaurant style cooking. I’m all about the fresh, home cooking which is real Indian. Yes we do make a masala to cook the meat or veg in but not base sauces. If you are a bit of a novice then start with something like Thati wala Chicken or lamb. Let me know if you need any more help. I don't think any of @Hari Ghotra recipes use a base sauce. I've certainly never made one but the boss might have to confirm. have a scan of the recipes 🌶️💥
