Hi Guys The next #FridayCurryClub live-stream is happening on Friday 18th May and I have decided that we are going to make my aromatic and delicious Chicken Biryani! I hope that is ok with you all. Here is the recipe so you can take a look and start to get organised.

Hey @Parsi you sure can - there is a veggie biryani on the app. Have a look if you need some ideas!

I think mushrooms would be great @Parsi . could do a mix of different types?

Hi Hari can I use a vegetarian option instead of chicken eg jackfruit or mushrooms or cauli etc ? Can’t use paneer as can’t eat it . Thanks nic

I will be posting info in the week so don’t worry. The recipe is the same but I will give you the instructions as we cook.

Perhaps I should wait until you have posted your amended recipe

Hi Max yes it is the cooked chicken. I was planning to make a few tweaks to the recipe as we do the cook along so was planning to do it all live. If you want to pre cook your rice before that is fine to do so you are ready. I was going to fully cook the rice too so it takes less cooking at the end. I will Only cook the biryani for 10 mins at the end rather then the 40. Does that help?

Hi @Hari Ghotra,
Just a little clarification please.
Is the ‘chicken mix’ in the recipe the cooked chicken?
Also, as the cooking time in the pot is 30/40 minutes, when you start the cook-in what should we have prepared in addition to par boiled rice?

Hi @Jo Dunn I will take a look and tweak it a little. Just stick to a heaped tsp if Kashmiri chilli powder

Oooh such a lot of chilli powder in the recipe @Hari Ghotra, 1tsp plus 1tbsp? 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 , ok to use just a little?

My all time favourite dish but seems so complicated to do ☹️👍
