@Hari Ghotra Im wanting to start losing some weight (that I’ve decided you’re partly responsible for 😋) and looking more at cals in meals. On the app you seem to have not included the cals info- I’m sure it use to be there or maybe that’s just on your website!?
I’m on catchup and wanting to do your deliciously chicken Biryani this week.

I think I worked out the cals for the Biryani dish was around 500 so not too bad for a main meal

In spite of @Hari Ghotra s luxury, decadent chicken biryani cookalong with ghee, nuts, white basmati, I am 4lbs lighter and Slimmer of the Week at my group, complete with Certificate, Fruit Basket prize and new sticker! @Damian Green @Sue Geen @traceyross 💕

Like the blue plates, very pretty and a good size.

That sounds good @Jo Dunn. I miss british supermarkets.

thanks @Jo Dunn . I keep scales available (even on dining table) so I can weigh by food. not that I'm obsessive or anything......😀

Thank you @Damian Green and @traceyross . Recently I bought smaller dinner plates at Waitrose, half price too, they are unbelievably labelled as 'side plates' (no wonder we are becoming a nation with obesity issues if these are side plates!) I find they stop me helping myself to 'big bloke portions'! 💕

I love my fitness pal too, as Sue has mentioned once you have your meals saved it’s easy. I find I can get 6 portions instead of 4 on most recipes and sometimes reduce oil and use 0% fat greek yoghurt. I find Hari’s recipes healthy, even Chicken Tikka Masala if I get 6 instead of 4 portions so will not have a scone on the day I eat it to balance things out but I have lost weight from home cooking and recording in the app and my diet is mostly curry. I will not have bread on a day if I’m eating naan later. I found some meals so low calorie and filling such as marrow curry and fenugreek chicken. All the potato side dishes too. I have to use the app as portion sizes eating out in the USA are massive so it’s easy to put on weight ... salads contain more calories than pizza in this country. Good luck @Damian Green

Thank you @Sue Geen! I'm really chuffed😀 I should say that sometimes, I do use a bit of ghee and also white basmati rice for e.g. last Friday's Chicken Biryani, as it was such a special recipe, but just counted those non-'free' foods into my daily allowance of 5-15 syns, as with the nuts in the Salan. All do-able, (just have to be organised and focused) 👍💕 @Damian Green @Hari Ghotra

Hi @Damian Green @Sue Geen @Hari Ghotra . Sounds like Sue has got you sorted with Myfitness Pal Damian. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Hari's recipes, her app and well, just her really!💕, so I was very afraid I'd have to give up my curries when I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes 21st March this year. Wrong! I've made dozens of Hari's curries since my diagnosis and just today I have lost one complete stone in weight, no longer at pre-diabetes! and that's in 9 weeks of delicious healthy curries. Hooray! 😄😃😁 I follow Slimming world and just swap oil and ghee for Fry Light and use 0%fat free Greek yogurt in place of anything remotely creamy. Good luck and keep eating Hari's healthy Indian recipes!
